Who Is Houda?

My name is Houda. I am a perfume collector and writer with a deep specialisation in Arabic, oriental, and niche fragrances. I have been building my collection and my expertise for over a decade, through markets in Dubai, through online communities of fragrance obsessives, through thousands of hours of wearing, testing, and comparing.

I started this blog because I kept giving the same advice to the same friends: here's what to buy, here's why it works, here's how to wear it. At some point it made sense to write it down properly, and share it with anyone who has ever stood in front of a perfume counter and felt completely lost, or walked past someone wearing something extraordinary and thought: I need to know what that is.

Every article I publish is rooted in personal experience.

My expertise covers three specific areas that most fragrance blogs barely touch:

Arabic & Oriental Perfumery : I have spent years studying the traditions, brands, and ingredients of Middle Eastern perfumery. Oud, amber, musk, saffron, rose attar.

I collect niche perfumes, test new releases obsessively, and bring the most interesting discoveries to this blog with full honest reviews.

My Approach to Perfume Recommendations

"I don't write about perfumes I haven't smelled. I don't recommend bottles I haven't loved. And I never let a brand pay for my opinion."

Everything you read here is based on real experience. No sponsored content. No brand partnerships. No free products exchanged for positive coverage. I buy the bottles myself, wear them for days or weeks, and then, and only then, write about them.

I also believe that context matters as much as quality. A great perfume worn at the wrong moment, on the wrong person, or in the wrong season can disappoint. So I don't just tell you what a perfume smells like, I tell you when to wear it, how to layer it, who it suits, and why.

This is the approach I developed naturally through years of matching friends and family to their perfect scents. The look on someone's face when a fragrance clicks, when they inhale and something shifts, is the entire reason I write.
