About Houda, I Don't Just Wear Perfume. I Live It.

A collector, an obsessive, a guide, and the person behind every recommendation on this blog.

What I Know: Years of Testing, Hundreds of Bottles

I am a self-taught perfume collector with over a decade of serious collecting behind me. My wardrobe of scents spans niche oriental houses, Arab luxury brands, and Western designer classics. I hunt new releases the way others follow fashion weeks, with focus, curiosity, and no small amount of budget sacrifice.

My specialisations are specific:

  • Arabic and Middle Eastern perfumery : Ajmal, Arabian Oud, Amouage, Rasasi, Lattafa, and the dozens of lesser-known Emirati and Saudi houses creating extraordinary work
  • Niche oriental houses : Nishane, Tiziana Terenzi, Al Haramain, and everything in between
  • Bakhoor and home scenting : the smoke-based aromatic tradition that is as spiritual as it is sensory
  • Perfume layering : the Arabic art of wearing multiple fragrances together to create something that belongs only to you
  • Designer classics with an oriental heart : Tom Ford, YSL, Dior, and how to find their best oriental expressions

My Philosophy: Every Perfume Is Made for One Exact Moment

I don't believe in signature scents. I believe in signature lives, and a full life smells different on a Tuesday morning than it does on a Friday night, different in winter than in spring, different when you're grieving than when you're celebrating.

The Arab perfume tradition understood this intuitively. You layer oud for Eid. You burn bakhoor before guests arrive. You dab rose attar on your wrists before prayer. Scent is woven into the architecture of daily life , not spritzed on as an afterthought.

Everything I write on this blog is anchored in that belief: that the right perfume, worn at the right moment, is a small but profound form of self-expression.

I Test Everything Before I Write a Word

Every recommendation on this blog comes from a bottle I have held, worn, lived with, and sometimes obsessed over for weeks. I don't accept free products in exchange for positive coverage. I don't write about what I haven't smelled.

"My friends stopped asking 'what perfume should I buy?' and started asking 'what perfume should I be?' That's when I knew I was on to something."

I have matched many people to their perfect scent, friends, family. The look on someone's face when a perfume clicks, when they inhale and something shifts, is the reason I write. I want to give that to every person who lands on this page.

My credentials:

  • Active collection across oriental, niche, and designer fragrance categories
  • Deep expertise in Arabic perfumery traditions: oud, bakhoor, attar, and mabthooth
  • Every product recommended is personally tested, no paid placements, ever

Why This Blog Exists

"I write about perfume the way others write about music."

Not as a product review. As a feeling. As a memory. As a moment that happened once in a city you almost didn't visit, wearing a scent you almost didn't buy.

This blog exists because the internet is full of perfume content that tells you what something smells like, but almost nothing that tells you what it means. I am here to bridge that gap.

If you came here to find your next great fragrance, I am glad you're here. If you came here to understand why smell is the sense most connected to memory, even better. If you came here because someone in Dubai left a trail of oud and amber in their wake and you've been chasing that ghost ever since, then you and I are going to get along very well.
